GRATITUDE and GIVING
Thanksgiving is approaching and we are reminded how the art of gratitude can be healing. Taking some time to get in the mindset of gratefulness is a healthy way to stay grounded. I genuinely thank you for your ongoing support in overcoming our loss of Megan. On behalf of Mary Jo, Sophie, and Grace, I can’t say thank you enough to all the people who have helped establish and grow this 100% volunteer organization.
Your generosity impacts the lives of youth as we directly support mental health services and suicide prevention. Since our inception in 2023, Meg’s Legacy Hope has granted more than $300,000 for counseling, education and support for youth in our communities. Our gratitude extends to our grantees and their teams who do the day-to-day work of helping our youth improve their mental wellness.
We thank all the generous sponsors and attendees at the 3rd annual golf and dinner this September. The event was hugely successful, and we raised more than $305,000. We recognize all our enthusiastic volunteers, and especially the Golf Committee who are tirelessly dedicated to making this fundraiser a top-notch event every year.
GIVING TUESDAY is December 2nd, and we invite you to make Meg’s Legacy of Hope your charitable choice. A donation of $100 can fund a counseling session for a teen in crisis; $500 can support mental health programming for an entire classroom. Every gift, regardless of its size, strengthens the safety net for vulnerable young people.
We look forward to granting $250,000 in Spring 2026. The 3rd grant cycle is currently open and accepting submissions through December 15th. Thanks to your generosity, the Grant Committee is poised to award more programs than 2025, fulfilling our mission to strengthen the lives of at-risk youth so they may be mentally healthy and receive needed support for their mental health.
In gratefulness this Thanksgiving, I am reminded of Meg’s good works to make a difference for the young people she helped in her volunteer work. Her life was too short, but the memory of her dedication to helping others fuels our all-volunteer organization to help those around us and carry on Megan’s legacy. If you feel a connection to our mission and you would like to join this amazing and dedicated team, please reach out: info@megslegacyofhope.org
Together we can make a difference, Larry Butz
